UNDER Construction

Education is the basic human right recognized by the local and international community.

In 1948, the United Nations ratified the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, proclaiming that all children have the right of the basic education. Convention on the Rights of the Child-1989 recognized the right of the child to education on the basis of equal opportunity. In World Declaration on Education For All-1990, participant countries (Bangladesh is one of them) made their commitment for Universe access and promoting equity in the field of basic learning needs.

Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discriminations Against Women (CEDAW)-1979, stated that, State Parties shall take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women in order to ensure equal rights with men in the field of education. The 2000 World Education Forum in Dakar (DFA : Dakar Framework for Action on EFA), Senegal, reaffirmed the goals of the Jomtien world conference. The 164 participating countries adopted the Dakar Framework for Action, reiterating the importance of equitable access to free primary education of good quality that all children should complete. The framework also brought attention to the need for adequate, equitable and sustainable resources, which it pointed as the greatest challenge to implementing education for all. In 2000, the United Nations, Millennium Summit, convened in New York declared that, governments have a collective responsibility to uphold educational equality and equity. Among the goals established during the summit were universal primary education and the elimination of gender disparities in education by 2015. In Bangladesh, National Strategy for Accelerated Poverty Reduction (Unlocking the Potential)-2005 determined a strategic goal to “Improve quality & equity and increase access to all types of primary education”.

Yet, despite this pledge, over 90 million children do not attend primary school. The most common barriers for this are school fees, child labor, health crises such as HIV/AIDS and conflicting situation. The ability to attend school is only the first challenge for the developing countries and same time quality of school is also important (UNESCO 2007).

There fore, No doubt, Education should be the prime responsibily for any development organization. Education itself is a largest emplyement sector. Moreover, Having a graduation and post graduation from education department , I feel a passion and responsibility to have a profession in education sector. From that point of view, I've minded to build a career with development organisations that contributing to edtcate my people.
